Ground-mounted photovoltaic installation service – Wieluń in the province of Lodz. Autumn has already arrived and so it’s time to prepare the photovoltaic installation for the winter heading towards us. In winter the day is shorter and so the sun operates shorter in the sky. Therefore, it is so important to properly prepare the solar system for the short days.
First of all, check the condition in which the photovoltaic panels, structure, inverters and also the connections on the AC and DC side.
At commissioned by customer from Wieluń in the Lodz voivodship Lodz our team went to check the condition of the photovoltaic installation, located on the ground, with a capacity of 25 kWp. 80 pieces of panels a each with a power of 310 W were placed in a system of 2 vertically. The photovoltaic modules operated by a 20 kW Huawei inverter. The system has been in place for 3 years and so far has not shown any faults. Nevertheless, the owner had the photovoltaic system serviced on the ground to make sure that everything is in order.
Inspection of solar installation on the ground
Our team arrived on site around 9 a.m. We started the service of the photovoltaic installation by checking the visual condition of the entire installation. The cleanliness of the photovoltaic panels, the condition of the support structure and its anchoring. Then the condition of the cables and their connections. The condition of the cables and their connections – ok. Photovoltaic modules covered with a layer of dust, which strongly adhered to the surface, plus a lot of bird droppings. The support structure bears no signs of corrosion and is firmly fixed to the ground and also properly grounded. Next it was the inverter’s turn.
The inverter was placed in an outbuilding near a window. This ensured that it had adequate ventilation. No screws were loose and, after checking the connection to the application, we could also consider this point to be up to standard. Next it was time to take measurements. Resistance, phase voltages and phase-to-phase voltages as well as string currents. All measurements came out correctly, within the expected standards. The owner, who accompanied us for the inspection, pointed out the drop in yields. However, the drop in yields was not associated with technical problems of the photovoltaic system. The reason for the lower power production was heavily soiled photovoltaic panels. Therefore, we arranged with the customer to perform the service of cleaning of photovoltaic panels. But another team will already go to clean the photovoltaic modules.
